Saudi Arabia, UK to hold Great Futures expo in Riyadh

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia and the UK will hold the Great Futures trade expo in Riyadh from 14 to 15 May, with the participation of around 750 representatives.

The expo aims to forge partnerships between public and private sectors in both countries across different economic sectors that support the Saudi Vision 2030.

It will primarily focus on innovation in research collaboration, disruptive technologies, emerging clean tech, finance, and sustainable construction.

A delegation encompassing over 300 British business executives will join the expo to showcase the best UK excellence and innovation.

Headed by Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden, the delegation will encompass senior business leaders from various sectors, notably tourism, clean tech, trade, and insurance.

Dowden affirmed that the Great Futures expo will be an important opportunity to forge partnerships for the future between the UK’s most creative and innovative companies and their Saudi business and government counterparts. 

“Our two nations work closely on security and energy. We look forward to strengthening those connections in new areas that feed the Vision 2030 agenda,” Dowden added.

For his part, Majid Al Kassabi, Saudi Minister of Commerce, said: “This event heralds the beginning of an extended and productive partnership focused on innovation, technology and our flourishing cultural sectors. We look forward to collaborating with the UK Government and the private sector to realize the ambitions of Vision 2030.”
