Mubasher: ACWA Power Barka is expecting losses of approximately OMR 2 million ($5.2 million) due to a technical problem in a gas turbine at the company’s power and water station in Oman, located 60 kilometers north of Muscat.
The incident at the Baraka station has resulted in both of the plant's gas and steam turbines being shut off.
The exact duration for repair works is yet to be announced, however, the extent of damage is clear, with the initial estimate being six weeks, according to the company’s statement to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM).
