Mubasher: The board of Al Batinah Development and Investment Holding gave the go-ahead on 27 September to engage in new investments valued at OMR 500,000, according to a bourse filing.
The new investments will be pumped through contribution by 35% in the establishment of a new factory for water purification and bottling, and distribution of natural drinking water, soft drinks and juices in Saham - North Al Batinah. The project will be implemented in partnership with one of the contributing Omani closed company, which will own the remaining 65%.
The factory is expected to start the construction work in November 2016 and the commercial production in August 2017.
The company will also direct part of the investments towards the acquisition of a 75% stake in one of the specialized medical centers in Muscat, in partnership with other partners.
