BCI posts SAR 29m net profits in H1-21

Riyadh – Mubasher: Basic Chemical Industries Company (BCI) reported net profits after Zakat and tax worth SAR 29.06 million in the first six months of 2021, lower by 4% than SAR 30.38 million in the first half (H1) of 2020.

Earnings per share edged down to SAR 0.6 in H1-21 from SAR 0.77 in H1-20, according to the financial results on Thursday.

Revenues decreased by 10% to SAR 244.69 million in the January-June 2021 period from SAR 272.1 million in the same six months last year.

During the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, BCI registered net profits worth SAR 14.64 million, also down by 4.4% from SAR 15.32 million in Q2-20.

Revenues fell by 9.5% to SAR 118.59 million in Q2-21 from SAR 131.14 million in Q2-20.

On a quarterly basis, the net profits in Q2-21 were 1.5% higher than SAR 14.41 million in Q1-21, while the revenues declined by 5.9% from SAR 126.1 million.
