EGX ends Wednesday in red

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday's trading session in the red territory, pressured by Arab and foreign selloffs. 

The main EGX30 index declined by 0.56% to end at 11,132 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI slid by 2.72% to 2,413 points.

Similarly, the EGX100 EWI fell by 2% to 3,390 points and the EGX50 EWI dropped by 2.21%% to end at 2,187 points.

The market cap value increased by EGP 8.5 billion to close at EGP 742.109 billion on Wednesday, compared to EGP 733.59 billion on Tuesday.

Local investors were net buyers with EGP 799.11 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 249.8 million and EGP 549.31 million, respectively. 

The market's turnover recorded EGP 3.26 billion after 593.26 million shares were exchanged through about 65,710 transactions.
