SAMIR's debts reach MAD 45bn before business halt, says Benkirane

Mubasher: The debts of Société Anonyme Marocaine de l'Industrie de Raffinage (SAMIR) reached MAD 45 billion before halting its business, said Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane.

He added that the debts are owed to customs, banks, taxes and other institutions, the state's news agency reported.

The halt decision was taken after coordinating with fuel distributors and others to overcome extortion, Benkirane said.
