Galfar Engineering and Contracting announced that it has been awarded a $60 million contract by Saipem for a refinery project at the Duqm region in Oman, TradeArabia reported.
The company will provide mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and piping fabrication works for the Duqm Refinery offsite facilities, according to a statement to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM).
The project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2020.
The subcontract was awarded by a joint venture (JV) between Petrofac and Samsung.
Galfar has recorded about $1.22 billion of orders during H1 2019, on the back of a number of oil and gas contracts, led by a $91 million deal with BP Oman for the Khazzan Gas Gathering System.
BP has awarded contracts worth $1.1 billion to Omani-registered companies to work across the Khazzan and Ghazeer projects in 2018.
