$3B volume of trade exchange bet. Egypt, Turkey during H1 of 2024

Egypt Today: In the first half of 2024, the trade between Egypt and Turkey stood at $3 billion, down from $3.7 billion in the corresponding period of 2023, as per the latest data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

 
Egypt's exports to Turkey amounted to $1.5 billion in the first half of 2024, a decline from $2.3 billion in the same period last year. Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from Turkey reached $1.5 billion, up from $1.4 billion in H1 2023.
 
Key export items from Egypt to Turkey in H1 2024 included Plastics valued at $235 million, Fertilizers at $177 million, and Iron and steel at $143 million.
 
On the other hand, major imports from Turkey to Egypt during the same period were electrical and mechanical devices worth $275 million, Iron and steel worth $278 million, and Fuels totaling $117 million.
 
Turkish investments in Egypt totaled $77.8 million in the first half of FY 2023/2024, down from $103.2 million in the equivalent period of FY 2022/2023. Egyptian investments in Turkey, on the other hand, reached $33.2 million in H1 FY 2023/2024, compared to $28.4 million in H1 FY 2022/2023.
