Riyadh – Mubasher: ACWA Power Company obtained a commercial operation certificate from the Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) for the remaining 75,920 cubic meters (m3)/day of Group 1 project that started operating on 9 June 2022.
Abu Dhabi-based Taweelah RO Desalination Company granted the listed company the project notice on 12 March 2024, according to a bourse filing.
Group 1 hold a daily production capacity of 454,609 m3 of desalinated water, while Group 2, which began the commercial operation on 25 April 2023, has a daily production capacity of 378,689 m3.
Accordingly, the project has achieved full commercial operation with a total capacity of 909,218 m3/day.
In 2023, ACWA Power recorded 7.90% higher net profits at SAR 1.66 billion, versus SAR 1.54 billion a year earlier.
