ADX opens Sunday lower on banks sector

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) opened Sunday’s trading session in the red zone.

The general index fell 0.24% or 11.4 points to reach 4,669.86 points by 10:35am UAE time.

Turnover reached AED 104.5 million after trading 92.7 million shares through 915 transactions.

The banks sector slid 0.6% as National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) decreased 1.04% and 0.8% respectively.

The consumer staples sector sank 0.21%, pressured by Asmak which tumbled 1.2%.

On the other hand, the investment and financial services sector went up 2.3%, followed by the industrial, energy and real estate sectors at 1.14%, 0.77% and 0.13% respectively.

Arkan Building Materials, which added 6.2%, was the most active stock after trading 34.1 million shares worth AED 40.22 million.
