Al Marri highlights DFM’s strategic role, government's agility during conversation at Capital Market Summit

UAE – Mubasher: The 2025 Capital Market Summit featured a powerful fireside chat under the title ‘The Dubai Story,’ featuring Helal Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and Director General of Discover the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai (DET Dubai).

Al Marri delved into a conversation with Senior Vice President & Group Country Manager for GCC at Visa, Saeeda Jaffar, on how Dubai’s financial markets have been instrumental in driving economic growth and investor participation.

DFM’s Chairman highlighted the Dubai government's agility and open-door approach, which both support rapid decision-making and execution.

Furthermore, Al Marri referred to the strategic role DFM plays in reinforcing Dubai’s global financial standing through innovation, dynamic regulation, and strong investor participation.

He noted that Dubai is actively shaping the industries of tomorrow, with targeted investments in AI, blockchain, and virtual assets, under the guidance of a dedicated regulator. 

The Chairman added that continued focus on digitalization, talent, and safety further enhances global trust and investment momentum. 

The two-day event will conclude on 7 May in the UAE after exploring the impact of technology on market infrastructure, initial public offering (IPO) trends and high-growth company pipelines, cross-border capital flows, the rise of retail investors and the ongoing transformation of private markets.

Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, opened Day 1 of the summit, during which he stressed that the UAE is building one of the world’s most investor-friendly economies.
