Arabian Drilling expands operations via SAR 2bn deal with SLB

Riyadh — Mubasher: Arabian Drilling has signed a five-year contract valued at approximately SAR 2 billion with Schlumberger Middle East S.A. (SLB).

Under the terms of the agreement, the company will provide eight additional land rigs to support integrated drilling operations for gas projects.

The contract involves the reactivation of eight rigs from the company’s existing land fleet.

This new award, combined with a previous contract for 11 rigs, brings the total commitment to 19 land rigs for integrated gas projects.

Consequently, the company's total order backlog has reached a record level of approximately SAR 16 billion.

Arabian Drilling expects the financial impact of the agreement to be reflected in its revenue starting from the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026.

SLB, the contracting party, is a major shareholder in Arabian Drilling.

The company noted that these contracts contribute approximately SAR 5 billion in total to the backlog and maintain its 100% domestic market share in integrated gas drilling operations.

Last month, Arabian Drilling inked a five-year deal valued at SAR 3 billion with SLB Middle East.
