Arabian Drilling to resume operations for 3 offshore drilling rigs

Riyadh – Mubasher: Arabian Drilling has received formal notification to resume operations for three offshore drilling rigs, according to a bourse disclosure.

These units had their activities suspended in early 2026 as a precautionary measure due to regional conditions.

The company stated that the restart of these three rigs is expected to commence within weeks.

The drilling contractor, which was established in 1964 and has operated for 60 years, expects its remaining suspended offshore rigs to return to service during the current half of the year.

Following this full reactivation of the offshore segment, Arabian Drilling projects that its offshore fleet utilization rate will reach 100% by the end of 2026.

CEO Ghassan Mirdad emphasized that the resumption reflects the company's operational readiness and commitment to safety and efficiency.

The company, which counts Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) and SLB among its major clients and partners, noted that the return to normal operating levels aligns with its long-term strategy and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Management confirmed that the reactivation was coordinated closely with customers and relevant authorities to ensure a stable transition back to full capacity.

On 13 January, Arabian Drilling signed three contract extensions for land rigs with a total value of SAR 1.40 billion.
