Aramex names new CEO

Dubai – Mubasher: Aramex announced that it has appointed Othman Aljeda as the company’s new CEO to replace Bashar Obeid.

Since Aljeda joined Aramex in 1994, he has occupied several leadership positions to promote the company’s businesses in the GCC, Asia, and North America & Europe, according to a press release on Thursday.

From 2007 to 2017, Aljeda established the company’s first regional office in Asia and led its expansion in the region by setting up major hubs in Hong Kong and Singapore.

In addition, the new CEO played leading roles in Aramex’s acquisitions, comprising its first acquisition of Mail Call in Australia in 2015 and Fastway Couriers in Australia and New Zealand in 2016.

Meanwhile, Aljeda was appointed as the company’s Regional CEO in Europe, North America, and Asia in 2017.

The Chairman of Aramex, Mohamed Juma Alshamsi, commented: “Othman’s knowledge and wealth of experience in the industry, coupled with his deep understanding of what drives Aramex and its people will help further progress our journey and reinforce our leading position in our core markets.”

Meanwhile, Aljeda said: “Along with the rest of the management team, we will continue to build on our solid foundation, capitalize on our strengths, grow our industry verticals, and take the lessons we learned from the pandemic to find the most innovative solutions and create greater value for our customers.”

It is noteworthy to mention that Aramex previously announced the resignation of Obeid from his position as CEO, due to personal reasons, following 28 years of service in the company.
