Riyadh – Mubasher: Middle East Pharmaceutical Industries Company (Avalon Pharma) inked an exclusive licensing agreement with India-based OneSource Specialty Pharma Limited.
Under the terms of the deal signed on 8 October 2026, Avalon Pharma obtained exclusive rights to register and market Tirzepatide multi-dose pen, a generic of Mounjaro KwikPen, in Saudi Arabia and other markets in the MENA region.
The agreement covers a multi-dose pen available in concentrations of 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, and 15 mg.
Avalon Pharma will serve as the marketing authorization holder and maintains the right to request a manufacturing technology transfer following the commercial launch.
The contract value represents less than 5% of the company's total revenues based on the annual financial statements for 2025.
The partnership is expected to generate cumulative revenues of at least SAR 800M during the first five years of the product's launch.
The contract duration is set for 10 years from the date of launch, with automatic one-year renewals thereafter.
Commercial rollout in each market will commence upon the expiration of relevant patents in either the launch market or the country of manufacture.
The Saudi-listed company recently penned a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China-based Aurisco Pharma to explore strategic cooperation in oligonucleotide and other complex pharmaceutical products.
