Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi stressed the state’s commitment to explore the potential of gold mining, according to an official statement.
On the sidelines of the fourth edition of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) in Riyadh, Badawi and Mark Bristow, President and CEO at Barrick Gold Corporation, discussed enhancing investment and partnership between the two sides.
In line with the amended Mineral Exploitation Agreement model, the two officials reviewed Barrick Gold’s plans to invest in Egypt and secure concession areas to exploit gold ore.
The minister outlined Egypt's vision to transform the gold mining industry, highlighting the needed measures to enhance investments in gold extraction.
Badawi also held talks with Bandar Alkhorayef, Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and addressed Egypt’s initiatives to conduct mineral exploration and operations.
