Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will suspend their operations on Sunday, 7 January 2024, in celebration of the Coptic Christmas Day.
Trading and work at the EGX and Egypt-based lenders will resume on Monday, 8 January, according to an official statement.
The Cabinet announced the Coptic Christmas Day as a paid holiday for all employees in the public as well as private sectors.
Earlier this week, the central bank and EGX halted business on 1 January to celebrate the new year.
