The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said on Thursday that remittances of Egyptians working abroad increased 11.6% in August 2021 to reach 2.7 billion dollars compared with dlrs 2.4 billion during the corresponding period of 2020.
In a press release, Dr Adel Abdel Azim, an official at the bank's economic researches sector, said total remittances of Egyptian expatriates in the period from January to August 2021 increased by 10.4% compared with the corresponding period in 2020 to stand at 21.4 billion dollars.
