CBE auctions EGP 40.25bn debt instruments on Monday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bills (T-bills) at a combined value of EGP 40 billion through two issues on Monday, 24 July.

The first tranche stood at EGP 23 billion and will mature in 91 days on 24 October 2023, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the second offering was valued at EGP 17 billion, carrying a tenor of 273 days until 23 April 2024.

The CBE also issued treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 250 million through one auction. The semi-annual coupon holds a maturity period of seven years until 7 May 2029.

It is worth highlighting that the financial authority resumed its operations today after the Islamic New Year and July Revolution holidays.
