CBE auctions EGP 65bn T-bills end-week

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bills (T-bills) at a combined value of EGP 65 billion through two auctions on Thursday, 29 August 2024.

The first tranche was valued at EGP 35 billion and will mature in 182 days on 4 March 2025, according to official data.

Holding a tenor of 364 days until 2 September next year, the second auction stood at EGP 30 billion.

Earlier this week, on 25 August, the CBE unveiled T-bills worth EGP 60 billion through two offerings.
