Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) through two tranches amounting to EGP 47.50 billion combined on Sunday, 10 December 2023.
The first issue stood at EGP 22.50 billion in value and will mature in 91 days on 12 March 2024, according to official data.
The second offering totalled EGP 25 billion, holding a 273-day tenor until 10 September 2024.
Last week, the financial regulator auctioned T-bills worth a total of EGP 94 billion over four issues on 3 and 7 December.
It is worth mentioning that the CBE recently announced that Egypt’s net international reserves reached $35.17 billion at the end of November 2023.
