CBE offers EGP 4.75bn debt instruments on Monday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bonds (T-bonds) at an aggregated value of EGP 2.75 billion on Monday, 11 March 2024, through two issues.

The first tranche stood at EGP 2.50 billion and will mature in three years on 12 March 2027, according to official data.

With a tenor of five years until 7 May 2029, the second auction was valued at EGP 250 million.

The CBE also offered zero-coupon T-bonds worth EGP 2 billion through one tranche that holds a 728-day maturity period until 10 March 2026.

Last week, the financial authority auctioned T-bonds and floating-rate T-bonds at a total value of EGP 5 billion.
