Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued treasury bills (T-bills) worth EGP 40 billion in two tranches on Thursday, 13 April, according to official data.
With a tenor of 91 days until 18 July 2023, the first issue was valued at EGP 22.50 billion.
The second offering stood at EGP 17.50 billion and carries a 273-day maturity period until 16 January 2024.
Furthermore, the CBE auctioned treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a value of EGP 3 billion through one issue, which will mature in three years on 6 April 2026.
On 12 April, the central bank offered T-bills and T-bonds at a combined value of EGP 40 billion over three auctions.
