Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned debt instruments at a total value of EGP 46.50 billion on Thursday, 14 December 2023, according to official data.
The financial regulator issued treasury bills (T-bills) over two tranches, with the first offering standing at EGP 20 billion and holding a 182-day tenor until 18 June 2024.
The second auction was valued at EGP 26.50 billion, carrying a maturity period of 364 days until 17 December 2024.
Earlier this week, the CBE offered T-Bills worth EGP 47.50 billion over two issues. The authority also auctioned treasury bonds (T-bonds) amounting to EGP 3 billion on 11 December.
