CBE offers EGP 46bn debt instruments on Monday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) worth EGP 43 billion through two tranches on Monday, 26 June.

Holding a tenor of 182 days until 2 January 2024, the first tranche was valued at EGP 18.50 billion, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the second tranche stood at EGP 24.50 billion and will mature in 364 days on 2 July 2024.

The CBE also offered treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a total value of EGP 3 billion through one auction, which carries a three-year tenor until 6 April 2026.

Earlier this week, the central bank announced T-bills at a combined value of EGP 40 billion through two issues.

Starting from Tuesday, 27 June, the financial authority will be closed until 3 July 2023 on the occasion of Eid El-Adha and the anniversary of the 30 June Revolution.
