CBE to issue EGP 1.75bn treasury bonds today

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) would issue Monday EGP 1.75 billion in treasury bonds to fund the country’s budget deficit in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, according to the bank’s website.  

The EGP 1.75 billion will be auctioned through two tranches: a three-year bond worth EGP 1.25 billion and a seven-year bond worth EGP 500 million.

Egypt’s budget deficit is expected to reach EGP 319.5 billion by the end of the fiscal year 2016/17.
