Checkout.com to enter into strategic partnership with Tawuniya at 24 Fintech

Riyadh – Mubasher: Global payments solution provider Checkout.com unveiled it will be signing strategic partnership agreements with The Company for Cooperative Insurance (Tawuniya) during the 24 Fintech 2024 event which will launch in Saudi Arabia on 3 September.

The collaboration between the two sides aims to expand Checkout.com’s service portfolio while boosting Tawuniya’s digital payment processes, according to a press release.

Furthermore, Checkout.com will benefit from this strategic partnership to streamline transactions and provide an exceptional digital payment experience for Tawuniya’s customers.

General Manager for MENA at Checkout.com, Remo Giovanni Abbondandolo, said: “Our partnerships with Tawuniya further cements our commitment to delivering the best services to our merchants, in the kingdom and beyond, so they can fully unlock the value of KSA’s thriving digital economy.”

The announcement of the collaboration with the Saudi listed company came in line with unveiling the participation of Checkout.com at the flagship fintech event that will last for three days until 5 September 2024 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center (RFECC) with Gulf International Bank (GIB) - Saudi Arabia being the Silver Sponsor.

The conference will bring together more than 26,000 global thought leaders in the fields of finance, policy, technology, investment, and academia to uncover key themes forming the fintech landscape of Saudi Arabia.

It will further discuss fintech regulation and governance, financial inclusion, sustainability and green finance, the convergence of digital assets and traditional finance, embedded finance, and open banking, in addition to the latest technology trends in the industry.

Abbondandolo will be part of the opening day during which he will share his in-depth knowledge during a panel discussion focused on navigating the complex challenges and capitalising on the immense opportunities within the rapidly evolving digital payments landscape across MENA.

Checkout.com has been serving businesses in Saudi Arabia since 2014 through its office in Riyadh. According to its fourth annual MENA e-commerce report, Saudi consumers are showing growing enthusiasm towards online shopping with a 180% leap in the number of consumers shopping online at least once a month since 2020.

It is worth noting that the platform was a sponsor and a first-time exhibitor at Seamless Saudi Arabia 2023, while it recently entered into a partnership with Majid Al Futtaim to secure experiences for more than 15 million customers.
