Riyadh – Mubasher: Basic Chemical Industries Company (BCI) said the cost of its project in Jubail Industrial City to produce chlorine and derivatives has been increased to SAR 750 million from SAR 685 million.
BCI noted that 78% of the project has been implemented, with expectations to be fully completed in the end of November this year, according to a bourse filing on Monday.
The company has attributed the rise in the project cost to “the addition of some facilities necessary for the project and the high cost of construction,” due to changes in some measurements and engineering details.
Until August 2020, the completion of BCI’s chlorine production project had reached 55%.
