Riyadh – Mubasher: MENA-based migrant fintech Monak e-Services emerged victorious among 11 shortlisted startups that took part in the third regional finals of the Fintech World Cup at the DATE Fintech Show, co-located with DATE AI Show in Saudi Arabia.
The contest was organised by Dubai Fintech Summit in collaboration with Trescon, the event manager, and offered a chance to pitch at the grand finale and secure up to $1 million in funding, according to a press release.
The Fintech World Cup provides fintech entrepreneurs with a platform to exhibit innovations reshaping the industry in a transformative way.
Monak e-Services offers financial inclusion and life services to workers in the Middle East through a partnered network.
Head of Partnerships at Monak, Mazen Mostafa Abdel Aziz, said: “It really matters to us to be a part of a stage where global juries and investors believe in our social mission and vision.”
Sharath Ravi, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Trescon, said: “Through events like DATE, we also strive to support economic development in alignment with key government initiatives like the national agenda detailed in Saudi Vision 2030.”

It is worth mentioning that the forthcoming edition of DATE event is expected to take place in Indonesia on 12-13 June 2024.
Trescon Group CEO, Naveen Bharadwaj, earlier said that DATE Saudi Arabia serves as “a convergence point, uniting industry experts and disruptors to pioneer a decentralized, technology-centric future.”
