Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy to host Expand Summit to support startups

UAE - Mubasher: Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy, one of the three chambers under the newly formed Dubai Chambers, will convene two-day Expand Summit, the region's first of its kind summit, in January 2022 to attract Venture Capitalists (VCs) for financing startups.

A total of 500 VCs and 1,000 tech startups are expected to attend the summit to mark the largest gathering of VCs and startups in the region, according to a press release on Wednesday.

The summit will also feature an accelerators unit to help venture capital firms and startups establish their businesses in Dubai.

To be held during Expo 2020 Dubai, the summit aims to build a network of international and local relationships with entrepreneurs, technology companies, and specialised funding agencies to enable startups and entrepreneurs to implement their creative ideas.

The event will be organised in coordination with Expo 2020 Dubai, Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai Future Foundation, and Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

The Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, Omar Sultan Al Olama, said: "The Summit will serve as a catalyst to help Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy achieve its goal of accelerating the growth of Dubai’s digital economy and doubling the number of digital companies operating in the emirate in the coming years."
