UAE – Mubasher: Dubai Duty Free ended 2024 with a remarkable performance, establishing a new annual turnover record of AED 7.90 billion ($2.16 billion), according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).
In December alone, the authority generated sales valued at AED 821.94 million ($225.19 million), marking an annual rise of more than 2%.
The operation recorded over 20.73 million sales transactions throughout the year, an average of 56,649 daily, while a whopping 55.137 million units of merchandise were sold.
It is estimated that over 13.70 million customers shopped in Dubai Duty-Free’s arrivals and departures stores in 2024.
Online sales topped AED 197 million ($54 million), equating to 2.50% of annual sales.
Sales in departures edged up by 0.84% year-on-year (YoY) to AED 7.12 billion ($1.95 billion), representing 90% of turnover. Meanwhile, arrival sales declined sharply by 12.21% to AED 537 million ($147 million), equivalent to 6.8% of total annual sales.
