Egypt Today: Four contracts to supply Chinese company Xinxing's ductile iron pipe products to national projects within Egypt and Saudi Arabia, were signed Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the Xinxing ductile iron pipe factory, which totals $150 million in investment, in Sokhna industrial zone, a part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
He attended the signing ceremony along with representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Cairo, Xinxing officials, and several Egyptian ministers and officials.
The total cost of these four contracts amounts to EGP 34.5 billion, of which $39 million allocated for export.
Madbouly said Egypt used to import such pipes, which are used in many infrastructure projects. Now that the industry has been localized in Egypt, it is expected to boost Egyptian exports.
