EGX closes Thursday on negative note

Cairo – Mubasher: The EGX30 benchmark index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) inched down 0.40% to close Thursday's trading session at 12,012.31 points.

The EGX50 EWI went down by 0.79% to close at 2,089.96 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI fell by 1.18% to 2,234.21 points.

EGX100 EWI also ended Thursday's trading down by 1.14% to 3,277.42 points.

A total of 212.992 million shares were traded through 31,406 transactions valued at EGP 2.049 billion.

The market cap value amounted to EGP 768.35 billion.

As for trading on securities, Egyptians were net buyers with EGP 8.185 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 6.785 million and EGP 1.399 million, respectively.
