EGX closes Wednesday with collective decline

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session with a negative performance after the EGX30 main index declined by 1.20% to 17,706.08 points.

The EGX50 EWI also retreated by 1.52% to 3,242.54 points.

Both small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI as well as EGX100 EWI closed the session lower by 2.29% at 3,544.75 points and by 2.07% at 5,241.09 points, respectively.

A total of 1.12 billion shares were exchanged at a value of EGP 1.96 billion, while the market cap value hit EGP 1.16 trillion.

As for trading on securities, the Egyptian traders were net sellers with EGP 19.39 million. Meanwhile, the Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 19.21 million and EGP 176,926, respectively.
