EGX closes with varied note before Eid El-Fitr holiday

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session with a mixed performance after the EGX30 main index fell by 0.13% to 17,516.04 points.

On the other hand, the EGX50 EWI went up by 0.79% to 3,062.87 points.

Both the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI as well as EGX100 EWI also closed the session higher by 0.50% at 2,991.93 points and by 0.56% at 4,549.74 points.

EGX’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.84 billion after 428.12 million shares were exchanged, while the market cap value hit EGP 1.12 trillion.

As for trading on securities, the Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 76.60 million. The foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 72.87 million and EGP 3.72 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s stock markets will halt trading during 20-25 April 2023 and will resume work after the Eid El-Fitr and Sinai Liberation Day holidays on Wednesday, 26 April.
