EGX indices end Thursday’s trading session higher ahead of official holiday

Cairo – Mubasher: The EGX30 main index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) increased by 1.24% to 31,720.50 points at the end of Thursday’s session.

The EGX100 EWI also closed the session higher by 1.62% at 10,784.46 points and the Shariah index soared by 3.09% to close at 3,218.68 points.

Similarly, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI rose by 1.51% to 7,557.73 points.

The positive performance witnessed on Thursday comes ahead of the official holiday on Sunday, 6 October 2024, in celebration of the Egyptian Armed Forces Day as well as the anniversary of 6 October victory in 1973.

The turnover amounted to EGP 3.85 billion through the trading of 808.40 million shares. In addition, the market cap value reached EGP 2.22 trillion at the end of the session.

As for trading on securities, the Egyptian and foreign investors were the net buyers with EGP 19.96 million and EGP 89.39 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Arab traders were the net sellers with EGP 109.36 million.
