Egypt, Germany volume of trade exchange hits €6B: Prime Minister

Egypt Today: Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, of Egypt highlighted the presence of 1600 German companies actively engaged in various significant projects within the country. He expressed a keen interest in elevating the trade exchanges between Egypt and Germany, presently valued at around €6 billion.

 These remarks were made during a meeting with Olaf Hoffmann, the President of the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

At the same gathering, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy noted that Egypt annually welcomes approximately 1.5 million German tourists and extended a warm invitation for German investments in the flourishing tourism sector.

 Hoffmann expressed his eagerness to enhance trade levels and foster investment collaborations between the two nations, aiming to forge more partnerships with Egypt in the near future.

Both parties underscored the significance of bolstering the localization of the automotive industry, envisioning Egypt as a hub for automobile manufacturing and export to neighboring regions.

Deputy German Ambassador to Egypt, Tobias Krause, mentioned the forthcoming visit of the Bavarian Prime Minister scheduled for the initial week of October, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

Abdel Aziz Al-Mekhlafi, the Secretary-General of the Chamber, elucidated the agreement to establish a liaison office jointly with the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce in Egypt, signaling a commitment to deepen economic relations between the two nations.
