Egypt Today: Egypt has allocated LE 90.6 billion to the energy sector as part of a wider LE 135.6 billion package directed to key and strategic sectors since the start of the Iran-related conflict, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said.
He added that the package also includes LE 30 billion for basic commodities and LE 15 billion for healthcare, aimed at ensuring the continuity of essential services and maintaining economic stability under pressure.
Kouchouk said the government is managing risks through stronger reserve buffers and flexible budget reallocations in line with national priorities, stressing that fiscal policy remains focused on supporting citizens and reinforcing financial resilience.
He noted that during the current fiscal year, Egypt mobilised about LE 670 billion for strategic sectors, including LE 483.4 billion for energy, LE 75.2 billion for healthcare and medicines, and LE 112 billion for food and essential goods.
Presenting the FY2026/2027 budget to Parliament, the minister said revenues are projected at LE 4 trillion, up 30 percent, while expenditures are expected to reach LE 5.1 trillion, growing 13.2 percent.
He added that LE 80 billion has been allocated to support production, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and exports, alongside LE 48 billion for export rebates, LE 6.7 billion for tourism support, and LE 6 billion in financing facilities for productive sectors.
