Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Minister of Manpower, Hassan Shehata, has announced a six-day holiday from 20 to 25 April in celebration of Eid El-Fitr and Sinai Liberation Day.
These days will be a fully paid holiday for private-sector employees, according to an official statement.
Shehata noted that employees can work during the public holiday if they receive extra pay from their employers.
Earlier this week, the Cabinet approved the six-day holiday for all employees at ministries, government entities, as well as the public sector.
Banks operating in the Arab Republic will suspend their operations on 16 and 17 April on the occasion of Coptic Easter and Sham El-Nessim, respectively, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) will also be closed during the same period.
Meanwhile, trading and work at the EGX as well as banks will resume on Tuesday, 18 April.
