The Egyptian Minister of Health and Population stressed the importance of collaboration with partners from international organisations to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Population, Khalid Mujahid, referred that 500,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine will also arrive in Egypt on Thursday.

In addition, the Spokesman of the Ministry expected that Egypt will locally manufacture up to 40 million doses of China's Sinovac vaccine by the end of 2021.

Mujahid confirmed that Egypt will receive 1,400 liters of the raw material needed to manufacture China's Sinovac vaccine, as part of the agreement signed between the Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines (Vacsera) and the Chinese company Sinopharm.
