Cairo – Mubasher: The value of Egypt’s exports of building materials, refractories, metallurgical industries, and construction materials increased by 2% to reach $3.23 billion during the first five months (5M) of 2023, compared to $3.18 billion in the same period of 2022, Ahram Gate reported.
Iron and steel exports surged by 46% year-on-year (YoY) to $943 million during the January-May 2023 period from $647 million.
Egypt’s exports of cement rose by 33% to reach $386 million in January-May 2023, compared with $286 million in the corresponding period in 2022.
Pipes exports from the Arab republic amounted to $7 million in 5M-23, marking a 65% annual growth from $4 million.
Furthermore, the value of Egyptian copper exports increased by 34% YoY to reach $252 million in January-May 2023 from $188 million.
