Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at a total value of EGP 39.50 billion through two issues on Thursday, 22 June.
With a tenor of 182 days until 26 December 2023, the first tranche was valued at EGP 16 billion, according to official data.
The second offering stood at EGP 23.50 billion and will mature in 364 days on 25 June 2024.
On 18 June, the CBE issued T-bills at a combined value of EGP 40 billion through two auctions.
The central bank recently announced that it will be closed for a full week from 27 June to 3 July, in celebration of Eid El-Adha and the anniversary of the 30 June Revolution.
