Egypt’s foreign reserves increase to $34.8bn in June

Cairo – Mubasher: The net international reserves of Egypt exceeded $34.80 billion at the end of June 2023, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The CBE highlighted that the recorded value is higher by nearly $146 million than $34.66 billion in May 2023.

During its 22 June meeting, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) maintained the benchmark overnight deposit and lending rates unchanged at 18.25% and 19.25%, respectively.

Both the main operation and discount rates were also kept unchanged at 18.75%.

In a press release, the MPC underlined that the growth of real economic activity is led by private-sector business, which is backed by the positive contributions of trade, agriculture, and construction.
