Etisalat records 4% higher profits in H1-21; dividends proposed

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The net profits attributable to the owners of Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat) increased by 3.9% to AED 4.745 billion during the first half (H1) of 2021, compared to AED 4.566 billion in the year-ago period, according to the company's consolidated interim financials for the six-month period ended 30 June 2021.

The company generated revenues of AED 26.435 billion in H1-21, 3.2% higher than AED 25.605 billion in the same period of 2020.

The company's consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted to AED 13.4 billion in the January-June period of 2021, up 1.3% year-on-year (YoY).

The basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) settled at AED 0.55 in the first six months of 2021, against AED 0.53 in the same period of 2020.

Meanwhile, the company's board proposed to distribute interim dividends of 40 fils per share for H1-21.

It is noteworthy to mention that during the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, the company's net profits rose by 7.9% to AED 2.34 billion, compared with AED 2.17 billion in Q1-20.
