Cairo – Mubasher: ExxonMobil Egypt (Upstream) Limited announced the discovery of gas-bearing reservoirs in North Marakia block, according to a press release.
The reservoirs were encountered after completing the drilling of the Nefertari 1 well in North Marakia Block with the Valaris DS-9 drillship.
ExxonMobil will continue to evaluate the results.
It is worth noting that Qatar Energy is a partner in North Marakia block which ExxonMobil operates.
In addition, ExxonMobil Egypt has more than 350 service centres under Mobil name as well as over 240 service centres for Mobil 1 and Mobil Autocare. Furthermore, it has 28 On the Run branches and a growing number of Way to Go branches which by far hit reached 18 facilities.
In 2023, ExxonMobil secured exploration rights for Masry and Cairo blocks offshore Egypt, where ExxonMobil Egypt (Upstream) was assigned to operate both blocks and hold 100% interest.
