Foreign Minister: Saudi Arabia eyes building up advanced digital sector

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: During his participation in G77+ Summit in Cuba, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, revealed that the Kingdom is focusing on building up an advanced digital sector and an attractive environment for investment.

The minister added that the Kingdom is enhancing global efforts to support the digital economy around the globe.

The G77+ China, a group of developing and emerging countries representing 80% of the world’s population, kicked off its summit in Cuba on 15 September with a call for new global order.

With the theme “current development challenges: the role of science, technology and innovation,” the summit aimed to overcome some of the core development challenges the global South countries are facing. It gathered delegations from over 100 countries, including around 30 heads of state or government.

The G77 was established in 1964 and now has more than 130 member countries from Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
