Oman’s Muscat Securities Market-listed Galfar Engineering and Contracting has won a $24.1m (OMR9.3m) contract from the Sultanate's Sultan Qaboos University to provide electro-mechanical, and civil operation and maintenance (O&M) services at the university, which is located in Al Khoudh, Muscat.
In a stock market filing undersigned by chief executive officer, Hans Erlings, the Omani contractor said the tender was awarded on 19 November 2019.
The statement added that the contract has been signed for a period of two years, starting 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2021.
Galfar said that it expected “reasonable income from the project".
In October, Galfar was awarded a civil and concrete works contract for Phase 1 of Ras Markaz Crude Oil Park by China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Company.
The company is also offering structural steel erection work for pet coke and sulphur storage shelters at Duqm Refinery, a $7bn (OMR2.69bn) integrated complex that is being developed through a partnership between Oman Oil Co and Kuwait Petroleum International in Special Economic Zone in Duqm (Sezad), with the subcontract valued at $2.7m (OMR1m) being awarded by Italian oil and gas contractor Saipem.
