Jazeera Airways puts entire fleet at disposal of Kuwait

Mubasher: Jazeera Airways has placed its 14-aircraft fleet of at the disposal of the Kuwaiti government, as part of its national duty as the country faces the outbreak of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Gulf state can use the airline’s fleet to evacuate nationals from countries affected by COVID-19 and transport necessary medical products and equipment, according to a press release on Sunday. 

Moreover, the Kuwaiti airline suspended all of its flights to and from Kuwait as of midnight Friday, 13 March, after Kuwait temporarily halted operations at Kuwait International Airport in a bid to curb the outbreak of the virus.   

It is worth pinpointing that Jazeera Airways is currently building a special medical facility at Jazeera Terminal 5 (T5) at Kuwait International Airport to facilitate screening all inbound passengers for the new disease before entering the arrival hall.

The new facility is built in collaboration with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Health.
