Jeddah Chamber supports 5k beneficiaries, delivers 1.38m digital services

Arab News: More than 1.38 million digital services and support for 4,910 beneficiaries were delivered in 2025, highlighting expanding access to business services in Saudi Arabia, according to the annual report of the Jeddah Chamber.

The chamber’s subscriber base rose to 163,438 by the end of the year, reflecting sustained demand from entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises.

One of Saudi Arabia’s oldest business institutions, the Jeddah Chamber supports private sector growth and competitiveness through business-focused services.

Mohammed bin Yusuf Naghi, chairman of the chamber’s board, said efforts in 2025 centered on improving performance, empowering the business sector, aligning priorities with relevant entities, and contributing practical solutions to economic challenges.

“This was reflected in activating sectoral councils, strengthening partnerships with public and private entities, and supporting initiatives that contribute to stimulating sustainable growth,” Naghi said, according to the report.

He added that the year witnessed qualitative progress in integrating environmental, social and governance dimensions into operations through expanded digital transformation, improved efficiency, and initiatives aimed at enhancing quality of life.

Electronic transactions accounted for the bulk of activity in 2025, with more than 1.32 million certifications issued. The chamber also processed 1,302 new subscriptions, alongside 7,487 special-category establishment certificates, 854 renewals and 27 additional subscription requests.

Trade-related services remained a key component, including 13,865 re-export certificate requests, 186 competition permits and 4,741 requests to update establishment data. Account activations for business owners and managers totaled 34,823 during the year.

The report also shed light on Warehouse City — a logistics hub spanning 3 million sq. meters — supported 654 commercial activities and more than 20,000 workers, underscoring its role in facilitating trade and supply chain operations.

The chamber also held awareness events focused on family businesses and professional services, aimed at strengthening governance, institutional transformation and accounting practices across the private sector.

According to the chamber’s Secretary-General Ramez Al-Ghalib, the organization aligned its services with the needs of the business community by developing its service ecosystem, expanding economic initiatives, and strengthening sectoral councils to identify challenges and design practical solutions.

“This approach helped enhance the readiness of enterprises and improve their ability to adapt and grow in a dynamic business environment,” he said.

Separately, the chamber approved its board report, audited financial statements for 2025, and budget for 2026, while adopting internal policies and appointing auditors for the coming year, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The chamber said it continues to focus on improving services for members, enhancing operational efficiency, and developing administrative and technical systems.

It is also working to support SMEs, improve the business environment in Jeddah, and strengthen partnerships for workforce training in the private sector.
