Jordan’s Power Company inks power agreement with Dutch counterpart

Mubasher: Jordan’s National Electric Power Company signed on Monday an electric power purchase agreement with Netherlands’ Empire for Solar Energy Company to implement a project in Mafraq Governorate with a capacity of 50 gig watt, and a total cost of $95 million.  

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ibrahim Saif, said that Dutch company offered a sale price of 54 Fils for every kilowatt hour in a time when the lowest price was 44 Fils.

The project includes installing solar cells to generate electricity and feed the national transfer network.
